Event Title Is it a hike? A dinner? A camping or backpacking event?
Take a look at past events for ideas.
When? Give the name of the day (Saturday, Sunday, etc), the calendar date (month, date, year), and time to meet. Saturday, May 23, 2009 - 10:00 AM
What? Give a description of the event: Where are we going? What can we expect to see & do? What should we bring? Pack a lunch? Are dogs allowed? What's the itinerary?
Meeting Time Probably just a repeat of the "When" info, but heck, tell us again anyway.
Meeting Place Often times this would be a Marta park & ride spot but it could be anywhere we could meet to form a carpool. Give good directions. Here's a link to past spots
Contact info What's the event leader/organizer's name (That's you!). How can you be reached? The best is to give a phone number and an e-mail address.
Costs Is there an entrance fee? What costs are shared, such as gas? A parking fee? Lunch on the way? Don't let someone get embarassed because they didn't anticipate how much money they needed?
Suggested Items: Layered clothing,hiking sticks, change of shoes/socks in case your feet get wet at crossings, lunch, water. What should a novice hiker need to bring?
Difficulty Rating A lot of folks, especially new members, would like an idea of how difficult the hike will be. What sort of terrain - Mountainous? Flat? Rocky? What sort of shoes will I need? Eventually I'd like to come up with a hike rating system. Any ideas?
